Howard Hanna Insurance Services always recommends that homeowners purchase a home warranty to help manage the cost of unexpected breakdowns and repairs.
America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW) provides coverage for buyers, sellers, and current homeowners, with structural warranty protection available for new construction.
Home Systems & Appliances
APHW’s standard home warranty covers 26 major home systems and appliances for covered breakdowns due to normal wear and tear. Enhanced coverage and optional add-ons are also available.
Standard coverage includes:
- Heating and central air conditioning
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing, stoppages, and ductwork
- Water and sewer lines, septic systems, and water well pumps
- Water and sewer lines, septic systems, and water well pumps
- Water heaters, sump pumps, and humidifiers
- Roof leak repair and attic/exhaust fans
- Kitchen appliances, including refrigerator, dishwasher, oven/range/cooktop, microwave, and garbage disposal
- Washer and dryer
Choose Your Own Licensed Contractor
APHW gives homeowners the freedom to choose their own licensed contractor for approved claims, rather than being limited to a contractor network. That means homeowners can work with a licensed professional they know and trust, with more flexibility when scheduling service.
Structural Warranties
America’s Preferred Home Warranty provides protection for new construction homes. Depending on the plan, coverage can include workmanship, major home systems, and 10 years of protection for major foundation and load-bearing structural defects.*
New construction home coverage can provide:
- Protection for certain construction defects
- Coverage for major structural components
- 10 years of structural protection
- A fully transferable warranty
Certain items and events are not covered through APHW home warranties or APSW structural warranties. For specific coverage and exclusions, refer to the applicable warranty agreement or contact America’s Preferred directly.
